« on: September 12, 2016, 11:24:56 AM »
I was thinking of getting a hard drive dvd player to take with us. What with time changes, not sure if I, ll be awake when my programmes come on. Do I need to  get a multi area? One  or will the bog standard Do?
Thank you B

There are no regions on Hard Drives, unlike DVDs. You'll be fine on that score. What are you hoping to record - I'm not sure you can do what you are hoping to?

I'm not sure 8)

These usually record from the tuner built in, they output to TV - not input from. It may be possible, I'm not sure.

Well if it all goes belly up, the saving grace is that it also has a usb port to use a memory stick. I, ll put summat on that, and be able to watch it when the weather knocks out the internet...do you get the feeling you and I will be doing a lot of this for the forseeable future.. :-[v :-[ :'( :-* ;D

It's a clunky way of doing it (even if you can  ;) ) -you'd be better off with a laptop, HDMI lead and a VPN. Then you can watch most of the UK channels things like FilmOn - and with a VPN you can use things like BBC iPlayer, where you can download loads of programmes to watch when the internet is not performing.
