Well today that national disgrace, known as "The Hillsborough Disaster " reaches some sort of conclusion. Maybe the families
will find out the truth, I wonder whether they will ever get justice. So many people have had to endure a 27 year sentence.
-
A momentous day for the families kevin3.
I can only hope they get some sort of closure. 27 years is a disgrace. :(
-
Well I think the families should get a closure after the decision,of 96 unlawful deaths,
-
Moe has just posted on FB that justice prevailed.
Mayny, many years too late but they got it in the end
-
I hope that the families do now have closure. If it was me I suspect I wouldn't have any closure until those in the police, press, judiciary and other agencies who covered up and lied not just about what went on, but expressed or implied terrible lies about the supporters themselves, are prosecuted for their part in this tragic event and its aftermath.
Still buying Murdoch's Sun anyone??
-
Never bought it and never would!
-
I was a teenager when did happened so only had a vague knowledge about the event until I saw a documentary a few months ago.
What a horrible disaster it was and so unnecessary!

I can remember settling down to watch the match and as events unravelled it was shock horror. You felt helpless watching, wanting to be there just to help. 27 years later finally some closure for the families. The only Sun I relate to usedbustickets is the one in the sky. ;)
-
I wonder what The S*n newspaper's front page headline will be tomorrow :(

Something else

There you go Highlander. This is where we list in their priorities but no love lost there! As I said before their is only one sun for me...that big shining yellow SUN in the sky. Where are you? Oh yes you're in Turkey 8)
-
Yes - it's a two page spread on page 8 & 9. Not the best way to apologise but they have apologised. Too little too late for many I guess.
Now - who thinks prosecutions should follow - or should things now move on and hopefully allow those affected to have some closure?
Almost 30 years have passed.
-
If the CPS can chase down celebrities on weak and often spurious claims of inappropriate behaviour (Bill Roache et al) from thirty years ago, then there is no logical reason why they can't proceed on the basis of a coroner's ruling.

The families should push, and push hard for criminal prosecutions.
Someone/people need to be accountable for the abominable circumstances that began that fateful day.

I've been watching the vigil in Liverpool City Centre tonight, and what a moving and powerful occasion. Many thousands
attended, a well organised evening and some brilliant speeches, and when they all sang "You'll never walk alone " it made
the hairs stand up on your neck. The good news is Sheffield's Chief Constable has been suspended. The bad news was
that part of the speeches were drowned out by the noise from Murdoch's Sky News helicopter. How ironic.
The Hillsborough families and the people of Liverpool can be extremely proud of themselves tonight.

Bill Kenwright nailed it on the head when he said of the authorities......
"They took on the wrong city - and they took on the wrong Mums."

According to the BBC web site, David Duckenfield faces a manslaughter charge and five others will be prosecuted for a variety of offences as a result of the fresh inquests.

Let's hope they all appear before a Jury at Liverpool Crown Court , but no doubt the tax payer will pay for their defence, I say hang the lot of them
-
Best news that I have heard all year.. He should have been prosecuted years ago.
-
Still a way to go but Justice may be getting nearer.
