Glad to share the recipe I have. My last attempt was for radish and lentil soup with chili pul (flakes). I had let some radishes grow into giants by ignoring them. They weren't much use for anything else so I tried them as a soup. I won't be recommending that to anyone.

That sounds delicious.
I have all "the makings" and will give it a bash.
Thanks Colwyn and thanks Scunner.
Whilst we're on a soupy thread, a couple of years ago I had a wonderful, great tasting "home made" soup somewhere in Turkey's wilderness (I got lost on my motor scooter) and was told afterwards that it was "tripe soup" - and tripe, despite the encouragement of my parents, was and is something I have refused to try (along with chitterlings, brains and stuffed heart).
I looked it up and saw it was called "iskembi korbasi" - a very popular dish, it seems.
I still can't bring myself to make it though.
Weirdly, I love haggis despite knowing its ingredients.

I have had both Tripe Soup and Brain Soup in Turkey. In a tasting I don't think I could tell the difference - both are a dreary colour with little taste. That's what comes of going to a soup kitchen and taking whatever is offered that day.

I have had 5 or 6 home made Lentil soups in Turkey, all were delicious, and all the recipes given were different
to each other. They certainly know how to make a good soup though.

Done!!
Two of us managed almost of all of it.
Top notch - perfect consistency, delicious and with a fresh, crusty loaf, a meal in itself.
No change was made in any way to the recipe - none needed. ( I'm a demon for adding Worcestershire sauce to soups but refrained).
It will become a house special.
Like me, it's very simple.
Thank you.

Yes made made some, and it was realy good and easy to make.
Thanks Colwyn.

Glad that people are enjoying the soup. I find making soup a very satisfying and somehow worthy thing to do - me being at peace with the world for a little while. I'd like to be able to credit the cook who invented it, or at least who wrote it down, but I've had the recipe for so many years I have no idea what the original source was.
