Bernie, Check your household insurance it may cover this.  Worth a try.  I know I lost a watch in Istanbul and my insurance paid out for it.

I left my purse on a flight to Alicante last year.. The Monarch crew found it and it was handed into the ground crew at the airport.. I picked it up on my way home.. I wouldn't worry about it too much... All my cards and cash were intact...

The insurance is covered by owners.First time I've never been insured
furniture is theirs.I own clothing, bedding, pots n pans
