Not taking tulips are you? Would make coals to Newcastle sound like a neat idea.

Just hide the bulbs under the bacon.      ;)

Yep we've taken bulbs, seeds and plants in the past. BUT, you can't guarantee they won't stop you this time.

You can get most bulbs in Turkey, so you need to ask yourself whether it's worth the risk.

Thanks all.
On reflection and having skim read the EPPO SUMMARIES OF PHYTOSANITARY REGS 1997
It's not worth the risk of importing pests and deseases which might adhere to plant matter. The regs are more liberal for seeds
We were disappointed in the lack of choice in the bulbs available in Fethiye in November . Hopefully there are more to choose from now.
We will just have to store the multitude we have in a cool dark place (Manchester) until we are back in the UK
By the way, there is a much bigger choice of tulips in the UK.
We would have needed a whole pig to hide the number of bulbs Sue has packed.

The ones we have brought in Holland always have a certificate on them to allow them to be taken abroad, so perhaps the ones in the U.K. do too? :-\

No, nothing on the labels Jackie. Also the regs say they should be declared with a cert for the whole shipment. As there was rather a lot involved, we have decided to have a mass planting in Manchester.
Also , Sue now has an excuse to,do further shopping in Turkey. She is looking forward to that.
