We had a job to get a table in the Nil bar Friday it was very busy.
Probably because it was a Quiz night.  Thursday nights are also very busy......Animal Aid run a fun (and fundraising) quiz on Thursday nights and it always attracts a good crowd.  I think the Nil is the one place in Calis which will not struggle for custom.

Do we  know what goes on behind the scenes re the Turkish tourism board, i certainly dont...
I do blame the British media for a lot of it re some of the clippings i have read particularly through the winter months re ISIS...

I so wish visitors would give The Grapefruit restaurant more support ....wonderful views and tentative staff .A great meal...the lamb shanks were so tasty the best I have eaten in Calis and reasonably priced .
It would be such a shame for it to close due to lack of custom

Dont blame the british media. What have the Turkish tourist board done about it?  BUGGER ALL.   And what has this got to do with original topic?

Err... that's actually not true.  While the Minister for Tourism is a complete buffoon, they have implemented (and supported) a number of projects to boost tourism and to support workers in the tourism sector.

The $6,000 "fuel" subsidy given to all airlines carrying tourists into Turkey has been extended through till September.

Financial provision has been made to support Tourism sector workers - this one's a bit vague and it may only be for three months (and of course the obligatory membership of AKP!).

They've started exploring new markets (geographically) with government assistance - Ukraine for example.  Its an old forecast, but they expect up to one million additional tourists with the help of new routes in Ukraine from THY.

Some may not like it, but they are also promoting Halal tourism - don't forget, Turkey is a mostly Muslim country.

...and to stay on topic, The Grapfruit sounds like a lovely wee place and well deserved of support  ;)

Passed The Letoon last night around 9-30pm and the upper level was in darkness and only two couples in the ground level bar.
The prom from Oben's to Lee's was dead but it picked up slightly from Lee's.
Only the Nil could be classed as busy.
A lot less people simply walking the prom.
