.......and if you watch very carefully, you can see that there is some form of "assistance" when the "Swan" performs some of her tippy toe stuff on the guys shoulders and head, especially the head!

Sorry to disappoint you TC, but what you see is all for real.  Saw this particular performance live some 3or4 years ago at The Coliseum, London. This particular piece was one of many fantastic performances we saw that night by the national Chinese Acrobatic Ballet.  It may make some of the more traditionalist of dance or in particular ballet baulked some what, but we all thought it was breathtaking and beautiful.
