Title: Koca Calis update
Post by: tel on July 19, 2009, 08:24:08 AM
The old pension type place next to the Garden Beach Restaurant (Tekins) has been acquired and major building work going on with mini lakes, no entry boards up, big extensions to the former building, sand on the beach pebbles again  (will they evere learn LOL)  Wedding party area and what looks like a beach bar being built, all in season as usual. Hell of a mess at present.
Garden Beach Restaurant in renovation still going on...slowly. New signs at road side now.
Aygol Hotel, scene yesteday....mattressses, sunbeds etc etc chucked in lane, Jandarma in attendance!!!
Old Sky bar, no change....closed
Mutlu's, probably the best at the moment, settled.
Max's Sand Bar nice and loads of statues around pleasant makeover.  No sign of Max, his brother in charge and Max allegedly in the UK for three months.
Liman, still a flattened site more or less. No change.
Birlik thriving ok.
Mini Sands, roof canopy off now and a good stopping off point.
that will do for now LOL
PS The camel is operating from the Surf Cafe with rides along the beach (short ride)

Tel,

Did you ever find out what was going on at the Aygol, or was it just one of those 'Turkish' happenings?

Does anyone know if the little shop on the corner of mozzie alley and the main road is still open? I ask because when I was there in June they had their electric cut off as evidently the husband had gambled away the money on the horses. Shame if they go under as the wife and kids are OK and work hard to keep the place open.

The pancake shop (as the kids call it) is still open, it was quite well stocked this week. Zinip is making all different pancakes now and also sells corn on the cob which is on the boil at the side of the road.

Glad to hear you are ok, the beach bar looks great we must have just missed you. We went there a few times and wondered where you were. Hope the rest of the year is better for you.

I understand that on the road which runs from the mini roundabout near new murat's bar up to main dalaman roadon the left hand side near the hotel turquoise garden ? some russians (who already own / operate dolphin pool in Kas) are to open one here, and have already started to level swamp for it. make a change to swim with dolphins as opposed to turkish land sharks.

Whilst out last week a few off the bar owners and staff where talking about a dolphin park being built Helen at the Birlik  seemed to think that this was going to be built on the empty ground opposite Mutlu & sands bar  starting in the winter time, not sure if this is just a rummour, has  any one else heard of this?

   Danky

I'm no expert Danks but I think dolphins would eventually die on the empty ground opposite the Mutlu :D

So Helen has now succumbed to the Birlik, wonder how that will work when Suat comes out. 8) 8)

She was in the Mutlu in June.

Helen's been in the Birlik for about a month now and I think you'll find Suats already about in Mutlu's prior to next project.
In the opening topic I mentioned a lake next to Sunset Garden Beach Club (Tekins) but I don't see the dolphins going there either.
Somebody said it was land bought on the 22metre road that was going to be used for the dolphin project near Turquaz gdns but the next rumour was they have transferred the idea maybe to Olu Deniz.  Just hearsay on the block!!!

Do you mean the beach John?
Title: Koca Calis update
Post by: stoop on September 02, 2009, 10:02:33 AM
Ammo,

I take it you mean Koca Calis end? Which part is bad as we were there in June and the council were out in force tidying the place up and trying to get the drainage ditches clean?

There as always been a problem in the area just outside Telmessos -where the gypsies congregate at the weekend. We tend not to walk that way any more due to the mess.

Our friends are in Koca at the moment and I will ask them what they thought when they get home.

Title: Koca Calis update
Post by: denniz on September 02, 2009, 13:43:30 PM
stoop is correct, the gypsies who bbq at the weekend in our area koca calis are very messy but they only tend to do this at turkish holiday times (about 6 weeks a year)the rest of the time it returns to the tranquile place that we love, just a note in favour of the gypsies, recently i needed a truck to transport two scooters to a garage in ciflic urgently at 7pm i was stuck i walked the beach asking the gypsies for help,in no time 2 guys put there food down left there family and bbq and before you knew it we were in ciflic with 2 scooters (cost 25ytl),i have also got my car stuck on the beach twice (dont ask)and on both separate occasions they could not do enough to get me on the road again(cost nothing),just saying although messy they are nice people

scunner in my opinion the whole beach and surrounding area as become a rubbish dump who can we ask to sort it ?? ive always loved the area but im not sure i will return if its gonna be left like this dont the people who leave this mess get fined or do they just not care about such a beautiful area ???? 2 days left and i cant wait to get home very sad never felt like this before :(

cant imagine you getting excited about coming home John. 8) 8)

Rain Wind Thunder Storms & getting bloody colder

We have a Turkish neighbour who has photographed people dumping on the beach and was taking them to the mayor to see what can be done. :)

Post by: Ammo on September 08, 2009, 08:16:07 AM
I have not judged Turkey or its people on one small beach. i just feel that if they want people to return then it needs sorting out and yes the mess is from telmessos down to well past the surf cafe we counted 20 bins along that route and only 2 had rubbish in them photos to be added later.Legless and Stoop i have to say its no better rubbish wise down by yours i know they cleaned up in june but tourist holiday season say may to oct and its not a good advert for Turkey or some of its People !

Have been assured that Mutlu's,Birlik,Mini Sands[Metats]DephnePension will be staying open out of season,who knows maybe even Sands Beach Bar[Max Menderes}
The Garden Beach Club[Tekins as was] have said they will stay open until the end of November?
Someone on Ciftlik Council must be reading the Forum yesterday workers were hand picking rubbish from the beach roads

Well I cannot see any difference George when we cross over the road for our daily swim, it's awful.  Must have been a rubbish effort.
I'm thinking of doing it myself, maybe the mayor would like to accompany me.

The beach at Sands bar was very clean when i was there aug 23rd to sep6th nice sunbeds/parasols and beanbag type seats too.shower working and Free tea or coffee, wherelse do you find that on any beach? there was even a nice walkway of boards /carpeted to get you over the stones to the sea.Max and Fuat has made it look really inviting down there, its just a pity that there wasnt many tourists there to appreciate it.Max asked where everyone was so i left him the cutout from news of the world sun/23rd aug showing a million people crammed on bournemouth beach lol.I did sit on Mutlus beach too and to my left a bit further down it was scattered with rubbish disposable nappies and discarded litter and plastic bottles hung from the trees behind it.I did feel like going around myself and cleaning the place up cos its a beautiful place, only it was too hot to work and i was on holiday.my son whos Turkish still had a fantastic time with me and his friends lashing about in the sea.

We are coming over again in October and staying in Telmessoss. Last time we always came off the main road at the roundabout, drove down a bumpy road to the straight road which leads to the Birlik, turn right onto an unmade beach road then off road by where the fruit seller is at the cliff round to the gate in.Is there another, smoother, way in? I love doing the Ari Vatenaan drive but SWMBO hangs on for dear life when I yump over the brow I the dark ;o))

The road from the roundabout is now block paved and the beach road is a little smoother. Then again they could take you the back way ;)

First time I saw one was in the dead of night in Forest of Dean on the RAC, I think it was the first year they entered. Awesome car, met a few drivers in one of the service areas, I think Ari was driving for Ford in those days, MkI Escort.

it was very quit then .
has change a lot since then
