Depends on which company you're travelling with and whether they have a rest stop and how long for. You should allow at least 3 and a half hours. Unless there's been an extremely heavy snowfall you shouldn't have any delays along the route.

Does anyone know how i could find a timetable of buses going from Antalya otogar to Fethiye or is it pretty much 24 hours?
I have done Fethiye to Antalya before but not the other way round and am thinking ogf booking a flight for next month, this is the better option for me then going via Istanbul, but I dont want to find myself waiting at a bus station maybe half the night!
Thanks for any help  :)

You can get the timetable for the Bati Antalya buses from their website at http://batiantalyatur.com.tr/ They're every couple of hours thoughout the day.

Pamukkale and Metro also run between Fethiye and Antalya and you can get times from their respective websites.

There's a gap between about 1am and 6am when there are no departures. The last time I did the trip I arrived at the Otogar at around 2.30am, had a meal in one of the Lokantas and then got my head down on a bench for a couple of hours before catching the first bus out to Fethiye.

Is it better to buy a ticket the day before or just before traveling

If you're going to travel on an official Turkish holiday day, it's best to book a few days in advance. Most other times you can just turn-up and buy a ticket.
