Bernie.....

From Wikipedia:

''Northern Cyprus (Turkish: Kuzey Kıbrıs), officially the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC; Turkish: Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti), is a self-declared state that comprises the northeastern portion of the island of Cyprus. Recognised only by Turkey, Northern Cyprus is considered by the international community to be part of the Republic of Cyprus.''

It is most definitely not Turkey and not ruled by Turkey.  I think with what I said previously it's unlikely I would have chosen to live here if it were so.

We thought it a very lovely country when we visited 15 years ago. I hope you've kept it that way Laura. All the best of Turkish culture without Erdogan and his thugs. Looking forward to being there in June.

Good luck with the move to Spain. My sister bought a lovely place out there years ago and was very happy for many years. The one thing she said to watch out for if you buy in some areas the water supply can be from a well you have to have drilled yourself which can be expensive. The local people were very welcoming and friendly in her village and the local food and wine very good. There were loads of festivals to celebrate saints and I went to some and had a great time.Watch out for you water you if you buy out on your own a bit though.

I truly hope you enjoy your holiday in June Colwyn though, as I'm sure I said before,  you are going to find the place has changed greatly in fifteen years.  It will be very interesting to hear your thoughts afterwards.

And yet they use the Turkish Lira.

Well as the referendum has already happened and there was no annexation I think we can rest peacefully in our beds.  The great leader has enough on his plate without worrying about this little piece of territory.
