We have trees in the council park opposite our complex that are taller than the complex buildings now is it possible to ask the council to take the tops of the trees?
-
Sure, just pop round and ask them.

Yeah, tell 'em you're on CBF, and you got the OK from JohnF. ;)
-
Hope they are not Gunluk trees or it's a big no no.
-
The council will probably give permission for another floor to be built on the complex.
Sorun çözüldü.

As you can see from your replies it would appear that the people have little or no faith in the Belediye cutting the trees back and to be very honest since the take over by Mugla nothing that seems to be required like general up keep on parks, roadways, road sweeping, road repairs gets done.So the chances for your tree topping is unlikely. :(

We have gunluk trees in our garden which were massively overgrown and the back balcony of duplex above my place was in continuous darkness. Despite numerous appeals to the local council we were not allowed to trim them. Recently a very nice Turkish couple purchased the duplex. The husband works for the forestry commission - guess what? All the problems disappeared, definately a case of "who you know..... "

Thanks for the comments I guess I may just have a chat with my Turkish friend

We have an Ambar tree and have been told they are protected in Turkey and you cannot cut them down

That'll be a Günlük ağacı, as previously mentioned by SteveJ.
