Title: Today's Man U
Post by: Scunner on January 20, 2014, 01:25:28 AM
I stumbled upon this graphic - one of the "choice" Fergie XI's. There were others, later, but this is for me the classic Fergie United.

So for fun, study the above and replace some, any or all of today's team into the above:

    01 de Gea
    02 Rafael
    03 Evra
    16 Carrick
    15 Vidic
    06 Evans
    25 Valencia
    04 Jones
    19 Welbeck
    44 Januzaj
    18 Young

Be honest, how many got in...

Ronnie Johnson, joined around the same time as Solksjaer. Both Norwegian.

Oh sorry, my mistake. It's Terry Johnson, bought from Leyton Orient.

As long as they don't sign Roger Johnson though - how many times has he taken clubs down?

Ps with West Ham now - a bad sign ^-^

Ian - not sure if this is true but after one of the recent cup defeats RJ threw his shirt into the crowd and they threw it BACK   :D - Thanfully we never got Titus Bramble  :(

Geoff - will bet you a drink at Zayra 2 that Sam keeps you up?

If they sack him though - all bets off.     ;)

A fit Wayne Rooney and RVP would be the two up front for me...if they were fit  :)

And as UBT recently pointed out, the team was doing well. RVP and also Rooney are absent and/or no help unless results are going well.

Im trying to get my head around that reply lol.

It continues from yours - as in:

A fit Wayne Rooney and RVP would be the two up front for me...if they were fit...and the team was doing well.

Usedbustickets (referred to in my reply as UBT) correctly pointed out that when results aren't good, RVP normally goes AWOL ("injured" ;). As more than one World Cup/Euro Championship has shown, when things aren't going well for England, Rooney is a waste of a shirt. This is also the case at Man U.

i cant see either staying, if theres not an improvement, or some decent signings in the next few days

Maybe they should improve themselves. This is the way to be professional, not run away.

i agree, but i dont think they will

I cannot see either of these two deliberately not wanting to be fit to play for club or Country. Or either not playing as best they can. Its a ridiculous accusation to make for two players who are constantly in the spotlight. No I'm not having it.

Nobody is forcing you to "have it". It is however quite apparent that when things aren't going well, RVP & Shrek are AWOL one way or another.

Looks like Mata is on his way to Man u, from Chelsea.

You carry on Scunner, I couldn't have said it better myself....

I ask the question of RVP, as was often asked in his Arsenal days, what injury is it exactly that keeps you from being available for selection?

And old Shrek has gone and swung another mid winter holiday at expense of the club, simply because he cannot be motivated (or care enough about the club) to train and get his weight down so that he can play at his best.....

A great buy for Manure, but will Maureen really let him go in this transfer window?  I am not so sure.
