Drinking alcohol in public places banned in Antalya... I was wondering do we have this ban in our area already?

Brilliant Topic title.
However, if I assume that she meant 'Public', I thought that had always been banned

Is it because they're concerned about the recent increase in minge drinking ?   ;)

The announcement and its interpretation(s) is explained in this article ... but it might help to have a couple of drinks before attempting to comprehend it. For example, try this clarification: "officials claimed that a “perception mistake” was made regarding the announcement. Such consumption was not banned totally, but only when it was done in a way to “disturb the surrounding”. So there!

To be honest I wish they would do it in more UK towns and cities. I know a few councils do in areas where they have trouble with anti social drinking.
