As you may know Brenda and John (highlander) have been coming to Calis for some years

Brenda likes Turkey traditions and she has told us lots about Scotland.

Because she asked us, Murat, Hakan and me have agreed that this season we will have a Scottish night in Scarlett one time a week like the Salsa night for six weeks in the summer.

Brenda and John have been thinking about this since they saw our wedding in September and because of the Burns Night.

Brenda has done almost all of the work and she has been getting John to send us lots of emails about it.

We do not really know what she has planned but she says there will be lots of lovely singing and dancing and it will be fun. There will be a demonstration of Scottish Dancing and then everyone will be invited to join in the fun. The dancers are young people on their school holiday and are being sponsored by her local council through a Culture Exchange Programme. The dancers will be performing at Letoon another night and the hotel has agreed to provide them with accommodation at reduced rates to help with there costs.

One of the dancers will also sing some traditional songs and Brenda (John says she's been on television) will also sing some of her favourite songs when she is over.

We will have some tartan (like John's kilt) in the bar and we will be serving stoovies and oatcakes which Brenda tells us is a traditional Scottish food. There will be a small charge for this.

This is a new thing for Scarlett Bar but Brenda is a good friend and she's done lots of work on it so we hope you will try and support us and her.
