A glass of wine at Istanbul in Kaya is 15tl., just a normal size glass.
A bottle of Angora was 55tl, not much of a saving, but nice wine.

Will need to start looking at wine prices.   I suppose because we are on holiday and the restaurant bills seem to be so reasonable, we don't note the drink prices.  However, will do so in future...well maybe.   :)

If you suspected someone was taking the micky would you then check prices /  your bill Jacqui?  We are fortunate enough not to have to count the pennies on holiday too (just like you) but as I said,  when goods are served we haven't ordered, we do tend to be more cautious.  We are enjoying great value for money over here and what's a few quid here and there - not a big deal.  Being taken advantage of is another matter.

I noticed every body keeps saying the average glass of house wine is 8tl can I please ask where? Most of the places I go to are 12tl and up.

Not everybody ! - Kayakebab, Toky and myself all stated locations.

I cannot help but observe that you did not say where you pay 12tl.

I recall that Frank Cannon's wine was O.K. but some of the wine offered is like Vinegar.  I would not mind paying extra if the wine was drinkable.

Sarsons is only 10 lira in the pork shops Jacqui, far tastier than that Kavak and Dickums  crap they call wine here.  ;)  :)
