Pookie,
We are all here as far as I know but it has been unexplainably quiet for a week now  ;)
Sun is shining here again today after a few cloudy days so prehaps everyone has gone to the beach today.

oh come on guys !  Some of us stuck here in Blighty miss the banter, and Rindi - come on girl - i miss your quips.    Totally agree that October is one of the nicest months in uzumlu - love those clear mornings with the mist in the bottom of the valley.   Heart broken that we aren't there until next summer now.  So please keep us love-sick uzumluites informed of whats going on, and keep posting, we miss you [:X][:X]

Uzumlu, the land of Kadyanda and Paranoia

Why do so many people from Uzumlu have this idea they are being singled out and picked on? We pick on everyone (http://www.calisvilla.co.uk/laughing.gif)

Oh come on Scunn - give it a rest :P  We are just beautiful sensitive people, not toughened townies like others.
Rindi, hope i haven't offended in any way, so please come back - miss your quick humour.
Levi - if you read this, send Lottie a message - love you lots xxxx

I could detect that some Uzumlu people might be a touch sensitive as you say :D

As I saw things, some Uzumlu people gave some opinions on some Uzumlu matters. Some people agreed, and some people disagreed. Some of the people who disagreed didn't actually live in Uzumlu and for that reason their disagreement was seen as 'outsiders' attacking Uzumlu.

I have never climbed Mount Everest but I'm prepared to say it's quite high. Where did the rule come from that says you have to live in Uzumlu to be permitted to write an opinion? And if you do, and it isn't the same opinion as someone living in Uzumlu, you are "attacking" them?

Get back in here, sensitive types and use the discussion forum for discussions :D

They sold salt and vinegar crisps in Turkey last year. They were very popular, so popular in fact that they stopped :(

I don't know why, I bought every packet I saw  :)

Hi all, I visited Uzumlu last week for the day while staying in Ovacik. It was absolute heaven! So serene, you are all so lucky to live there. Just up the hill where a husband and wife were making shawls, I asked where the winehouse was. Typical Turkey, I ended going in, drinking his home made wine, nuts and grapes! While being dressed with every tablecloth and shawl in the place!
It was so funny, I bought a lovely bag and another from the nice young girl across the way.
I loved the Winehouse, how old is it by the way?
I met an english man and his Turkish wife, inc 2 children and 2 aunties! I ended up going looking for a trout farm in Eren? with them? We managed to find it but they said they oly open in peak season, we then went to Fethiye for fresh fish!
Left my hotel at about 10 in the morning and got back at about 8pm, after missing dolmus', getting lost numerous times, but it was worth it, what an adventure!  :)

The winehouse is apparently one of the oldest remaining buildings in Uzumlu Jenny. It is believed parts of it date back to 1992

Hiya peeps.  Just had a busy 2 weeks with friends and family.  Little Isla (5 months) went home with Mum and Dad in the wee small hours.  Horrible to see them go.  My blood pressure is nicely settled after my holiday *wink*.   And if any of you remember what the heck I am talking about, there was a big lady who would burst out of the curtain at the end of some of Eric and Ernie's shows, make a speech and finish with "and I love you all" while blowing kisses.

I have now Googled it and here's what I found...

A standard gag at the end of each show was for a large lady (Janet Webb) to appear behind the pair, walk to the front of the stage and push them out of her way. She would then recite:
"   I'd like to thank you for watching me and my little show here tonight. If you've enjoyed it then it's all been worthwhile. So until we meet again, goodnight, and I love you all!   "

Heres a portrait http://www.ianardo.com/hall3/webb.html
