Title: Hello again
Post by: starman on August 11, 2014, 05:51:44 AM
Hi folks,

Thought I would drop by and see how many old rogues are still about on here. Thought it would be rude to pop by and not say hello.

Thanks all,
Efes is sold here and was around 11 honkies last I looked which is about 85pence. No tax or vat on booze so for buying beer or even better, wine, it's a 10000% improvement from Turkey. I can even order cases of wine from Napa or New Zealand and it just gets delivered straight to my door within 3-4 days. Great news but not so good for my liver.
I have only been back to Turkey once for a stay of a few days in June last year and had a quick transit through Istanbul on my trip to Brazil last month but seeing what's happening on the news I am kinda glad I got out when I did.
I still eat lahmacun, have beyaz peynir and sucuk for breakfast and sometimes drink ayran even. Can find everything here and after living in Turkey for 20 years, kinda hard to shake old habits.

Good to see scunner keeping a tight ship here.
