Been quoted 125 YTL for 500kgs.
Just wondering if that's on the mark or not.
Thanks
-
We just bought 3 ton for the bar at 650 million for the lot.
It was from a place just before the Tax Office. Uygar Odun.
If you have any problems e mail me .

What does 3 ton look like Heidi? Just curious.

Third as much as 2 ton, or was it a picture you required:D

So 125 for 500K isn't bad. Good this was from the place just at the start of the road running down to Ozel Ata.
Thanks for the help, will also check out the other place.

Would any of you residents be kind enough to advise how much firewood would be required for when we visit for a Christmas & New Year for two weeks? Also, where do you obtain the fuel from? Is it best to purchase from any of the smaller shops or is there a main firewood supplier somewhere?
It's our first visit at this time of year and we've sorted heaters for our property, but any other relevant information would be appreciated greatly.
Thanks in anticipation TT. 8)

Think you'll find that's 650YTL not 65YTL so 125YTL for
500kg is not too bad.
:-\Still get confused with the noughts thing myself:D
-
500kg x 6 = 3 tonnes
125 YTL x 6 = 750 YTL
Using the basic economic principle of economies of scale, I venture that 125 YTL for 500kg is officially "not a bad price at all".

To give slightly better directions to the place I found.
If you are standing at the entrance to the main bus station looking across the road, you will see a road with a canal running through the middle, the place is just after the market on right hand corner of the road. No English spoken, he seems to be a one man band, but the wood looks excellent.

Rowanis, thanks for the info. I'll take a leaf out of your book and branch out to find this place when we visit in December. TT. 8)

Just make sure that the logs you buy are well seasoned. Some places are selling logs that have been cut this year and are very wet. If you buy by weight you'll be paying for a lot of moisture and the logs won't burn very well.

There is a "Cost of Living Guide" available within the Fethiye Times website; this covers wood & much more. Very useful to track the price increases over the months.
With the ever increasing comments about higher prices in the area, perhaps traders will not "set" such high prices for 2006. We can only wait & see.:P

we use the coal merchants just up from the devlet hospital in fethiye . On average we use a bag or two of coal perweek plus a bag of logs and small firlighting sticks. We burn this on a soba. For a quick fix turn the heat up on your aircon
