VOIP Calls are getting cheaper
« on: January 15, 2007, 21:32:40 PM »
I've just had an email from 'Netcalls4less' about their service. Their VOIP calls are the cheapest I've seen for some time, 7.8p per minute land line to Turkey. It's more than the free Skype call but if the person you are calling doesn't have Skype, it's a bargain. They are also offering and extra £5.00 worth of calls free if you put in the promotion code FIVEFREE when purchasing credit before Jan 31st. The link to their site is http://www.netcalls4less.com/.
I can't find the offer on their website but if anyone is interested I can forward a copy of the email.

It only costs 1.2p per minute to call a landline in England from Turkey via Skype.

People from UK can phone me from their BT landline for nothing  :)

I have a UK number through Skype, so anyone in the UK with free weekend/evening calls can phone me on a London (so free) number and hey and indeed presto, I answer here in Calis [8)]

Hi Alan,

With a Skype account you also have the option to buy a UK landline number - for £20 per year I think - I chose a Greater London (0208) number, it has the same last 5 digits as my landline number here in Turkey.

I give it to all my friends in the UK, and they both can call the London number free (because they get free UK calls at weekends and evenings with BT) and it is re-routed to me in my little Calis world.

Very good also for "London Office" number  ;)

If you download voip you can talk through your computer for free, no skype needed. It will automatically cut you off after 5 minutes, but then just ring again. You wont get cheaper than free!

Scunner is correct - I set it up for my mate who has a Tesco voip phone. He too has a UK number which comes free (for life) with the Tesco phone. So I can ring him anytime for free!

ps - I think you have to buy the skype number every year but still more than worth it :)
