Moving to Turkey with pets

My husband Chris and I are hoping to move to Turkey next year and we would be grateful to hear from anyone who has taken their pet with them when they move.

We are regular visitors to Calis and would love to live in this area, it's just that we are really not sure if we could leave our beloved cat behind - I know that might sound stupid to some but thats us.  No kids, one cat!!

I would love to hear from someone who will tell me they have done it and how easy it is!!

Heidi (Xanadu) told me she had the name of a company who specialise in getting pets to other countries, she may be able to help.

Some airlines let your pet travel on same flight with
you, From memory Turkish Air Cyprus Turkish and Air 2000
I know of someone in Ovacik that have taken out ther 4 cats
I will try & check out how they have settled down

Hi Lisa, we brought our two cats with us last year with mytravel and had no problems at all,they have both settled in very well and love the hot weather.Find a good agent to handle the paperwork as there is quite a lot involved,If you wish I will look up our paperwork and let you know who handled it for us.

Thank you so much for all your helpful advice.  We are visiting Calis again at the end of August and will have another general look around at property etc.  We are anticipating a move in approximately September next year so - thanks Smudge - if it's ok I will probably be in touch again nearer the time.
