Not sure if this is the right section to ask this, sorry if it's not, but we're looking to buy a villa or bungalow in Calis or surrounding area, at least 2 bedrooms, must have a decent-sized garden and preferably already furnished. Any one help?

The best piece of advice is to ignore friends of friends who are selling or waiters who know of someone who is selling. Go with a reputable firm, two very good recommendations above and do your homework.

my advice would be buy a resale,no teething problems and plenty extras that would save you a couple of grand.and if a friend of a friend wants to sell just let them get in touch with scunner and for 50 pound he could put it in the fsbo section,maybe more people will see it there than in an agents window.

a good solicitor would find any problems... just because a property is with an agent doesnt mean its problem free?
there are some bargains to be picked up through private sales and without the commission. have a good look around and dont be put off or frightened wich ever route you decide to take.
the right house will find you anyway!!

I would always advise buying through a reputable agent. Private sales are all well and good... but then who will do the checks, title deed application, and other necessary paperwork etc. The 3% commission that you pay the reputable agent is well worth the peace of mind!

I am very cautious of private sales we looked at one
property in Akyaka for sale privately by a german it
had no habitation certificate and was unlikely to be
granted one (builder voted for the wrong mayor) and
another property for sale in Koycegiz for sale by
Americans again it had no habitation cert despite the
fact that it was 8 years old, it was three stories
and should only have been 2 they eventually had to
take down the 3rd floor. Fortunately I had a turkish
friend with us who had been an estate agent.
A good agent is invaluable
