Hi all, we insure our property with intersure, after renewing our policy last week, we received a letter stating that the turkish government require both our passport numbers, Is this correct, and has anyone else had to do this with their insurance company, as I thought the government had our passport numbers when applying for our tapu,thanx.Bee

Yes, your passport numbers are required.

"The Government" probably does have your passport numbers recorded somewhere, but not necessarily the particular department that's requesting them this time.

Turkish citizens generally have to provide a copy or the number of their ID card / Kimlik and foreigners have to provide photocopies or the number of their passport when carrying-out transactions that involve government departments. It's been the case for several years.
