2009 Languaga/ Hosting Request in TLOL
« on: January 19, 2010, 19:00:45 PM »
Last year a company were advertising in the Land of Lights looking for UK owners to host Turkish students who wished to learn English. The idea was they lived with you for 1-4 weeks, language school in the day but they chattered, watched TV, played games, socialised  etc.generally with you the rest of the time. You provided a room, food and company all for a fee of course. I have thought about doing this as it would also help me to learn Turkish presumably.:D Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of the company please and if they are still in business in 2010?
Thankyou :)

Yes they are still in Calis near to the tax office and looking for hosts. They came to an Ovacik Residents Association meeting not long ago asking for hosts. I think Pi55y would be able to tell you how to contact them.

hi  it will not help you learn turkish as the whole idea is that students come into your home to learn english and most of them will be from russia iran ect. we get paid for teaching them not them teaching us. :)

When the lady from the school came to talk to us about having a student she said that some are Turkish. One was a manager for Mercedes in Istanbul who was learning everyday English more for business reasons. They are not always youngsters
