Yes quite a shock, drop of 3% in a week.
FinansBank 2.27 last week 2.20 today
Don't know if its the £ that strengthened or the Lira that's weakened

Its the pound that is weak - nothing to do with the TL.

It has got progressively weaker all week... taking more of a downward turn in the last couple of days

Pound actually went up today (Friday) against a lot of currencies - including the YTL. Latest exchange rate (not tourist rate)is 2.237ytl to the £.

Tourist rate is obviously lower.

The £ is almost at a 1 year high against the euro.

thank you Jim  ;)

http://www.oanda.com/currency/converter/

This is the currency converter I use - if you put £1 the rate for close of business Friday is 2.23153 TL

Underneath is a helpful medium graph that covers the past month and shows that the £ plummeted rather dramatically on the 10th May and has yet to recover...
