Can anyone tell me the procedure for renewing car tax at the Fethiye tax office.   Do you just go to the Cashier desk or to somewhere else first?

Go to tax office, take a number and wait for it to come up, go to 1st cashier guy and give him your doc's, he will input on computer, give the docs back to you, then wait for next guy to call you, pay money, get receipt, done.

It is possible to pay online, many banks' credit cards allow this. Most of them make stage payments as well. I had 5 stage payments. But page is in Turkish [:(!]  www.gib.gov.tr

Thank you.   The problem I have is that we recently changed the car from Turkish to MB plates and when I tried to pay at my bank, they told me that their system hasn't been updated so I need to go to the tax office.

But paying online in the future seems a very good idea.   Thanks

Some banks just don't to be able to cope with tax payments for MA/MB etc plates. It's been like it for years.

Don't get caught by police if you drive to Tax office though as I can't imagine any sympathy when you've had all month to renew. It will be more than one lira if you're unlucky lol
