Thanks everyone and especially ovaciksarah. I took your advice and opened another account with the same bank (Garanti), last night. I opened a daily interest account with 35 days maturity and got 10.5%. I am only - a very big only - getting 9.25% on my original account.

Is there any cap on how many accounts you can hold ?If not then me and the wife could have two each then. Think things may work out if we could do that.
I tried to ask some questions on the ING website but they wouldn't go through as i dont have a Turkish Telephone number yet.

You can only have one orange account per person (or one joint account)But you can have other high interest accounts at ING that are not accessible daily

Just on the back of this, how easy is it to transfer money out of a turkish account into a uk one?
Is it just as easy as uk to turkey?

yes the interest

Yes, in a joint orange account you can have 2 x 98k tl & yes the interest is paid daily, so if you don't get the book updated for a while, you have quite a long wait whilst the updates are printed  ;)
