can i bring english cheque,and pay in to finans,how long does it take to clear,or would i be better bringing cash

The last time we used a cheque it took 21 days to clear (3 years ago) Fortis bank ad there was a charge of £30.00.
Cash is better.

Remember to declare any thing over £1000 that you are taking out of the Uk!!

I paid a cheque into Finans from HMRC, it took about 6 weeks but no charge.

The current amount above which you need to make a declaration is 10,000 Euros.

This applies to both taking out from and bringing into UK when travelling to/from a non EU country such as Turkey
