Criminal Mastermind
« on: January 18, 2013, 18:15:15 PM »

A man was robbed in Norwich in the early hours of this morning and had his wallet and phone taken. The police were called and, when they arrived, followed footprints left in the snow until they discovered a 22 year old man a few streets away who was immediately arrested. Isn't that nice.

He should have taken a hint from Mr. Benn and left the scene walking backwards :D

Because his webbed feet would have immediately identified him as a local   ;)

This guy is not top of my list of master criminals though. That honour goes to the bloke who set out to rob a jewellers. Faced with the problem of how to break the plate glass front window he spied a manhole cover set in the pavement behind him. So he prised off the cover and stepped up to the window. Then, deciding he needed a bit of a runup before hurling the cover, took a couple paces backwards and .......... yes, he fell down the manhole. Which is where he was when the police turned up a few minutes later.

Being an ideological sound sort of character (this is what we had before PC came in, and is considerably superior) I would normally describe the hole as an inspection chamber but this doesn't really fit the story.

Can't say I've ever seen a woman go down an 'inspection chamber' so I think it's safe to call  them 'manholes'

Did he sue the council for having a manhole cover that was easily knickable, thus leaving a hole for him to fall down.
I wouldn't be surprised. Probably a more profitable day than the actual 'heist' he had planned.
