Had to laugh at yesterdays BBC news, a report on the Istanbul riots was followed immediately by rioting in London by some "Anti-capitalist brigade". I have to say the London rioting looked a lot more violent.
Are you serious Chris ,take your head out of the sand ,people have died in Turkey ,police are using water cannons ,cs gas and stun grenades.
You've obviously taken my quote out of context. I was making the point that riots where also going on in my own country as well as Turkey.Just making the point that riots no matter how bad can happen anywhere in the world. In the reports that I saw,the violence was worse in London riots than that particular clip of the Turkish riots.Thats all.

You're all at tonight

Believe it or not, when replying to someone else's quote, you reply AFTER the quote, not IN it!!!

I believe that the difference between the riots in Istanbul and those in London, and possibly what prompted your response is that the rioters in London appear to include a sizeable portion of "rentamob" whereas those in Turkey appear to be putting their feelings across rather than trying to cause violence.

We returned last night after 4 blissful weeks in Calis and have to say that we have heard more about the "problems" in Turkey since we returned than we ever heard there.  Perhaps it is our press being its usual over the top self, or a black out of the press releases in Turkey but from personal experience, we never for one minute felt that we were in any danger at all whilst there.

Nobody knows how this will pan out - RT is clearly no fool and unrest and subsequent drops in the stock exchange values do not help anyone.

For a man who has navigated his way around so many obstacles that many thought would bring him down - I would hope he can negotiate the right course now.
