I've been there in August 2 years in a row and I coped much better than I thought I would.  But then I had a lot of factors in my favour:  I was on holiday so I didn't have to worry about doing anything of any worth apart from having fun; I was almost always near the pool so I could jump in; we have superb modern air conditioning in the bedrooms and sometimes woke up finding ourselves cold and turning it down so we got a good night's sleep.  If you're going to be retired with very little in the way of responsibilities and if you have a pool I reckon you might cope.  I don't know how people cope in that heat when they have a job or no pool.  :-\

That is a good point H.  Another reason we coped then.  Mind you, it might be 3 or 4 degrees cooler but it still got over 40 while we were there both times.  Possibly less humid though.  Whatever, it was wonderful.   ;D
