Road Tax

I've just read on Facebook that some people are trying to claim this back as they were told by their solicitor it was an illegal tax.  Seemingly the Belediyie had grants for this work.
Of course the Belediye said no and that a refund was out of the question.
We were stung to the tune of almost 1500tl for this so would welcome the money back if this is possible.
Does anyone know anything about this?

This road Tax was always something that puzzled me, why some were asked to pay and some not.  Anne did all 20 apartments pay, if they did and that was just your site, nice tidy sum.

I'm sure you all remember me moaning at the time that we paid more than double than the other owners at the time.  So getting this back would be an achiement in itself.
Since there are rumours that we are to be hit once again for all the new roads around us I'm not taking a hit twice if I can help it.

It never made any sense to us.  We paid over 800TL, some owners on our complex (25 villas) paid much more, some paid much less and it had nothing to do with the location of the property or the size.  Some owners received official looking letters from the council asking for payment, some didn't...in fact the Zabita came onto the complex to hand them out.  I know of quite a few people not on our complex who never paid because the council could find no record of their property despite them paying council tax since they lived there.  Crazy doesn't even come close!  I just wonder if they would give us the money back now or would they claim the new "improved" roads and walkways are paid for by that tax.

That's exactly what happened on our complex.  We all paid different amounts although all the bottom apartments are exactly the same as are the top ones.
I think they made it up as they went along.

I did hear that after a certain amount of time, those who hadn't yet paid didn't have to pay it. I also heard that those who had paid it were not allowed a refund, even though the charge was illegal.

I heard we would not be given a refund.  I can't remember who it was now, but the person did try to get his/her money back but no joy
