Banisters
« on: May 31, 2014, 08:12:12 AM »
We have the usual wrought iron railings around our balconies, the problem is that the wooden top rails which look like normal banisters have got to the point that they need replacing, does anyone know where I can purchase these as uncut lengths of timber possibly up to 4 metres in length so that I can make the corner joints and more important that can be delivered?

There are a couple of timber merchants on the Saniye that will be able to supply your needs. You'll find them at the back-end near the marble suppliers. Roughly in the area of 264 - 268 Sok. However, you'll either need to take photos and measurements, in metric, of what you want or someone that speaks Turkish to explain it. They'll arrange transport for a small fee.
