Ross County FC - a community football club to be admired
« on: April 28, 2017, 23:10:45 PM »
I have very personal reasons for being extremely grateful to Ross County FC, my home town football club and that's why I wanted to praise them for their latest gesture.

"Ross County Football Club are delighted to announce that all supporters will be able to attend our final home game of the season against Hamilton Academical F.C for FREE."

The Staggies are a very fine example of a community based football club that others would do well to have a look at.

Actually, Ross County FC are a very fine example of a football club who are flourishing by virtue of having a millionaire businessman (Roy McGregor) picking up the financial tab.

It's easy to make magnanimous gestures when there isn't the pressure to balance the books at the end of the season.

On that premise and with these two clubs having billionaire owners, do you suppose Chelsea and Man City will do the same?   ??? :-\  ;)

Well, well -a local businessman giving something back to his community. What despicable behaviour.     ;)

I suppose I should be grateful that JohnF thought it a magnanimous gesture.

Oh and by the way Ross County FC's chairman is a gentleman called Roy MacGregor.

I am sure most teams would love a loyal supporter with a bit of money to put that money in his local team.
Well done to Ross County...

Good to see pedantry is still alive and kicking on CBF.

Your gratitude is accepted.

I know several Ross County supporters, as in folks that regularly attend matches both home and away, and they have concerns about the reliance on a white knight chairman.  Think Gretna, Motherwell, Dundee, Hearts... So get off your high horse.
