I agree with the other postings; we always top up our Nationwide accounts before going to Turkey and have used many ATMs without charge.

Both of the ATMs on the roundabout at Calis accept the Nationwide Flex account card with no charges. The next nearest one is outside the new hospital.

Neisha get rid of your Barclays card and get a Nationwide. I sell foreign currency and our customers get charged by Barclays for using their debit cards! And its their own money! Nationwide is one of the very few that doesn't charge for using ATMs abroad and we have one just for that purpose.By the way Lloyds TSB charge for debit cards also but it may not show up as a seperate payment on your statement.

I would like to reverse the role by drawing from my Turkish account via the ATM in UK

Any advice on Turkish banks that allow such transactions would be appreciated

I presently have an account with Kosc but would change if necessary

Regards

Bob

Neisha,
I think you will find that all credit cards charge interest for cash withdrawls from the date of withdrawl even in the UK.
I got a better exchange rate with my Nationwide withdrawl with no charges than if I would have changed cash at an exchange.

All cards - debit or credit charge up to 4.75% for using an ATM abroad. These charges are seldom shown seperately on your statement. The charge is usually 2.50% + £2.00 handling charge per £100.00 drawn.
