These cheap dial up numbers that you are all talking about,I assume that they can only be used from the UK. to land lines or mobiles in Turkey or where-ever.
if this is correct,  does anybody living in Turkey know of numbers that can be used from Turkey to contact UK.

Also what was the outcome of Turkcell trying to stop all overseas phones being used.
would this mean that I would have to first buy a Turkcell phone, before being able to access a cheap rate lines from Turkey (if they exist). or would I be able to access them from my english phone.
Sorry if this sounds confusing.

Try this one    www.vianet.com.tr  They do have a shop in Fethiye opposite The Ece Saray but the guy does not have a lot of English. His sister speaks good English if she is there. There are two systems.
1.   You buy a card with credits on it dial a special number followed by the number you want and they route you to that number. They claim to save you up to 80% on international calls.
2.     Is for home phones where you have a box inserted at the back of your phone and it does the same thing automatically. I have this and it works ok but sometimes their lines can be busy.
I think there are other similar systems that may be available. :)
