Bus Passes
« on: September 05, 2005, 20:58:58 PM »
Having just spent a month at my new apartment in Yaniklar and having 3 kids in tow, our method of transport to Fethiye and Calis was the dolmus.  I was wondering if you could get weekly/monthly passes to use the dolmus, if so where can you obtain them?

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help

idont think you can get a pass as the dolmus drivers all work for themselves
it would be hard to get on same one all time
do you pay half fare for children?

Doll,

Thank you for your comment on the bus passes.

When I was in Turkey I was sometimes charged for the children and sometimes not.  When asking a few of the drivers, they told me I had to pay 1 million for the children (full fare 2.5 million).

Thanks to everyone for their comments

I thought full fare was 1 million? If it is 2.5 million I paid the wrong fare whilst I was there!

I suppose it depends where you are going to and from Jenny, but like you we only paid 1 Lira from Calis to Fethiye.

Oh my God!  Is there nothing Dippey doesn't know about!  Bus passes to boob jobs the woman must be the font of all knowledge-and I thought she was only and accountant! I really hope I meet you one day, when are you out in Calis again?

Jenny, can't remember what the Dolmus fare, but as your so sweet and adorable I bet no bus driver would mind if you paid less than the proper bus fare.

Students pay half fare, all turkish citizens over a certain age do qualify for a pass looks very similar to a uk pass in plastic wallet, up to most individuals to request through the council. but can not see it affecting most of us.  There is one uk lady in fethiye that I know of received her pass last year, she has been here for (as she says) an etenity and proudly says she will were hers on her lapel...lol she also still works in the season, many may have seen her at Dalaman, quite a character.

Sorry just re-read my post, it was late last night, children and students pay 3/4 of the price so Calis to Fethiye and vice versa 1ytl they will pay 750kurus.
Anne, you are correct the dolmus to Hisaronu and Olu Deniz is 2.50Tl it was increased early in the season from 2 to 2.5tl.
All Dolmus have a price list at the front, somewhere on the notice it does say yasli insanlar ve orengi (elderly and students) with the price.
