Title: Flu Jab
Post by: Lorraine on October 11, 2012, 12:50:11 PM: Just been into Fethiye this morning, had a flu jab done in the chemist opposite Migros - 10TL. Also stocked up with a host of remedies to see me through the winter months whilst away at work, extremley helpful staff and very good prices.

How unlucky - nothing to do with the jab though as it's not a live vaccine. It's a myth it can give you the flu.

If you are eligible to get it free even better, but IMO it's far better to be protected against flu before the Winter comes on . I seem to remember one year a very bad outbreak of Flu and everyone clamouring to get injections and stocks where really low.

Previous answer exactly right, you CANNOT catch flu, it is not a live vaccine, you can feel 'off colour' potentially for a few days and have a sore arm. Anyone who does go down with full blown flu after a jab, has had the bad luck to be already incubating it!
