Title: Anyone Know What This Is?
Post by: WordBird on July 25, 2014, 03:52:05 AM
They are growing on one of the trees in our garden.
Look a bit like apples but the wrong shape..... I wondered if they were some sort of pear but they have a fuzzy skin like a peach.....
You can't see it brilliantly on the photo but they are sort of ridged in shape.
Any ideas?

I think they are quince. They can be used like apples but take longer to cook, they are quite tough. Makes nice quince jelly though   ;)

Look up recipes for quince and take it from there.  Quince jelly is very nice.
