Back in 1998 when we first visited Calis there was a restaurant called the Rubber Tree, I think it was where the Eyna is now, I know the large rubber tree is still there, well it was 18mths ago, does anyone else remember the restaurant?

Yes, remember the Eyna/Rubber tree. Can't remember who had it then, but around 17/18 years ago it was Barbaros and his German wife.

This thread just makes you realise how many different bars have occupied the same property over the years.
Take what is now Adrian, in the time we have been coming to Calis it has been  (past to present as we recall) Poyraz, Berk, Bostans, an Italian (can't remember the name but great pizzas), Vojos and now Adrian (I have probably missed a couple as well)

I'm terrible with names BUT loved Anna's when Anna was there & all the pool tables, just doesn't have the same atmosphere etc now... Loved the lighthouse when, was it Phil & Louise? had it, not been in recently although it's somewhere i keep meaning to try... we do still go in the meeting point but not as often as when Baris & Marc had it.... there was a restaurant i'm sure diagonally opposite Serils we liked, they had German Shepherd dogs??

Think this photo may have been taken (about three stone ago :( :( :() in the Sands Bar.

If I remember correctly when Menderes first opened that place, he pleaded with us to come for a meal one night, because, amongst other things he wanted to make the place look busy.

So we agreed a date and time. However on arrival (eight of us if I remember) Menderes told us that his chef had gone to Fethiye. Being the Turkish way, no further explanation or solution was given.  :)  :)  :)
