That's an old one Stoop; there's actually a little bit more to the Kavagi affair than the headscarf issue.
Kavagi was slipped in to the lists of the Virtue party candidates by Erbakan,
after he had been forced out of office. No-one paid her much attention till she got elected and then, the proverbial hit the fan! She was almost prosecuted for "inciting hatred" as no woman had ever entered parliament with a headscarf before, the prosecutor at the time (Savas) went so far as to demand the death penalty!
Stripping her of her citizenship was an easy way out and she toddled off back to America.
