Anyone use a Skype phone in Turkey to speak to someone with the same phone in England?  Is it possible?

It is more than possible  :)

I have a standalone Philips Skype phone (no need for PC to be on) and phone the UK for free almost every day. Our Telecom bill went from ridiculous to pennies overnight.

Even if you use it to phone normal UK landline phones, it is only 1.3p per minute - I put £25 credit on our Skype phone in September and I'm not even half way through it now.

Thanks for replying :)
I'm def. going down the Skype route when I come over.
I forgot to put that I wanted to know about the Skype mobile.  They've got a version available in the UK but when I phoned them they said Turkey was a no no at the moment.  Can't quite believe that but I may be wrong.
Do you know anything about it?

I think they are probably right, I looked at it too, but wasn't confident about it over here.

We have two skype 3G moblies and have gone from £65 to £20 per month you can only use it to and from Oz, Ireland, Italy, the UK at the moment but other countries are being added to the system, to use skype free on payasugo you have to add £10 per month to get free skype to skype service but the £10 never expires you also have the internet, tv, plus a 2.0 meg camera with phone.

I paid £80 for the two on a deal from a 3G shop better than £49.99 each service is great too.

Hi Chris

Could someone who is not in the countries mentioned use a 'traditional' skype phone or headset to call someone in the UK who has said 3G mobile?

Keith, yes no problem, you cannot use the 3G phone on skype while in turkey back to the uk or anywhere else only as a normal mobile and the cost back to the uk on PAYSUGO is at £1.00 per min.

Cost while in the uk are 12p flat rate to any network or landline including texts

Is it possible to buy one of these Philips skype phones in Fethiye? How much can we expect to pay?

Hello Mrs Mercury

I haven't seen one yet - I got mine from John Lewis website, strangely they were the cheapest @ £99. It's a brill phone, plugs straight into your modem so you don't need your PC on full time, in fact you don't need a PC at all (although that would be daft to have a skype phone, broadband and no PC  :) ).

I was going to the UK anyway so had it delivered over there.

I also have the same make & model Skye phone as Sir Scunner and I have to agree (that`s bloody hard) with him that it is a brilliant piece of equipment.
