Why cant i use my turkish phone in the uk .

I assume its a mobile phone we're talking about, as you will need a very long phone lead for a landline :)
If it's turkcell or vodaphone no problem you will just need to contact whichever provider you have to activate the roaming function. In the case of Turkcell you can do it on line.

If you use Turkcell Hazir Kart, (you buy scratch cards with credits on them), type in *111# and press the Call button. Your phone will then be activated for International Roaming.

Remember when using the phone to call Turkish numbers from outside of Turkey that you need to prefix all numbers with 009.

Easiest/cheapest way is to get a UK simcard and just swop the cards when you are in the UK :)
