A few years ago I went to one of the Canary Islands, most of their beaches are black volcanic sand, yet they made a 'man-made' beach of white silky sand, it was brilliant. Why cant we get them to do that in Calis?

It was at our Question & Answer Evening that the inevitable question about the beach cleaning came up, and the machine was given as the solution. It surprised me then and it doesn't surprise me now (that it didn't happen).

My theory of almost two years ago still holds firm - get the restaurants to look after their beach frontage and it's job done. Enjoy a cool beer on the beach outside a bar that looks after their section, or sit on the beach outside next door where nobody gives a damn. It only takes one to do it and the rest will work it all out quickly, and thankfully, I have found establishment no.1 - so let's see how it pans out.

Scunner, that seems to be the most sensible suggestion so far. I hope it works.

Give us a clue- which establishment is going to be setting the standard.
