We took out bacon sausages and beans in April in our hand luggage, we were allowed to take the bacon and sausages but had the tins of beans took off of us as they contain liquid! Derek was heart broken cos he is a Scotsman! So next time I shall put the beans in the case.

We take bacon and sausages out all the time, but make sure you freeze them and put them in a coolbag that way they should stay below 5 degrees
making it safe to refreeze when you get there, also put in the middle of your case.fouling this try the breakfast at Bambo, best bacon i'v tasted.
Pete.

You can buy bacon from the deli next door to Mendos Sugarland in Fethiye. Beans and HP sauce as well. Theres no need to bring it with you from the UK.

Anyone know where to find the "official list" of foods you can bring in to Turkey.  Looked on Turkish Embassy site no joy there.

Strictly speaking you are not allowed to import meat and if you do there is a stiff fine, there were signs up at Dalaman not sure if they are still there.  Saying that we still take bacon, sausage, cheese and cider.  Down to us if we get it confiscated isn't it.  Always put it in the case as it goes in the hold and stays cold wouldn't fancy it after its been on a 4 hour flight in hand luggage.

We freeze it, wrap it in aluminium foil and pack it in the suit case, every time we come :D.
