does anyone know if the snakes in the river are dangerous, last week while waiting for a dolmus i spotted 5 within 10 minutes the biggest one being about 3 feet long, they come out of the river and bask in the sunshine also last year there were two small ones in our garden they were brown and yellow the river snakes tend to be brown or black, we have also seen loads of small turtles and red necked terrapins here can anyone throw any light on what these snakes are thanks

Wingy what river are you talking about so I can keep away. ;) I know the land snakes can be dangerous because my daughter was bit by one in Hisonaru and had to go straight to hospital for a jab,she still has 2 little scars on her foot, and that was by a hotel pool.:P
