hi everyone.i would like to buy a boat as i plan to come over to calis for good this year.i was wondering what kind of licence i would need for a boat that was about 40 foot.but i would only use it for my own pleasure.hope someone can help.was in calis last week looking nice.  best regards to all.craigie :-\

they charge a tax on the engines here
really expensive
however did you want a sailing boat?/with an engine
my friends have a nice boat they are selling its a nauticat i think about 42 ft
its in the marina in fethiye.

To drive your boat though, you would need a seamans license, I think, although, in fairness, I don't know if this only applies to Turkish Nationals, I know my husband has to get a new one, to drive his speedboat.

you cant get a license to fish here,
 your not allowed....
no fish here anyway as the area is over fished all the time.

thank you all for your reply.i would like to have a boat off and on like the taxi boat's.but a bit bigger.about 40 ft.i would just use it for pleasure.not fishing.i have owned boats in the uk.so would like to have and enjoy one there on my retirement.would also like to find out about mooring's.but can't do all this untill i move there for good(hopefully this year)so i am putting out feeler's.so again thank you for your help.hope to be there soon.best regard's  craigie.

You would need a Captains licence for that size boat.
do plenty of research before you commit to buying one

There are plenty of fish you just need a friend with the
knowledge of where and when ;)
