Ferry to Rhodes
« on: June 06, 2008, 13:09:29 PM »
Could anyone tell me which harbour the ferries go from in Fethiye to Rhodes ? I understand the cost is 85 euros for an open return. Also does anyone know the nearest hotel to the harbour for an overnight stay before the early morning crossing.

Almost opposite the Tourism Office near the Ampitheatre, moors at big concrete jetty that sticks out into the sea. Lots of places to stay nearby....depends entirely on your budget. 0900 is hardly an early morning crossing:D

One crossing per day leaves Fethiye at approx 0900.  Crossing is normally about one and a half hours but depending on sea conditions.  Went yesterday and took nearly three hours due to choppy seas and could only travel at about 14 knots instead of the usual 30+  They delayed the return by one hour to compensate and it was 90 minutes coming back. :)

Thnaks for the replies - this is a very helpful forum ! My budget would be up to about £50/60 for a double room - any suggestions on nearby hotel, its only for the night before the crossing - preferably walking distance to harbour ! Thanks

In round figures £50.......is it worth it ...yes but only if you can afford it  To get the most benefit consider staying one or two days, Rhodes is a very interesting place although a bit more expensive than we are used to in Fethiye.  Watch out for the small beer
It is one litre and there is the bigger large Beer as well!:D 8)

The Doruk is pleasant and overlooks the harbour, prices are good but you would need to get a quote:

Sorry tribalelder, I think I mislead you !! We are staying in Fethiye for 1 night and was looking for a hotel close to Fethiye harbour ! We are staying in Rhodes for 5 nights and then coming back to Calis Beach !
Thnaks Scunner, have tried the Doruk but appear to be full, any other suggestions within walking distance of harbour ?
