We are thinking of having ADSL installed in our complex so that everyone who comes out, owners and rentals, have access to the internet whenever they like.  Has anyone else done this and, if so, has it been successful, cost effective etc.?  We would appreciate any advice.  Many thanks.
Jan

Hi Jan,

I know a few, the passworded wireless system seems to work very well and is of course most cost effective. They have it at Violet, so CBF members such as Anne, kenkay etc can offer advice I am sure.

What about installing your own phone line with ADSL? Is it expensive? Anyone done it in Koca Calis - in particular Saglik?

I know full time residents of Coca Colas who have been waiting well over a year for a line. There doesn't appear to be much infrastructure of the Telecom flavour down that end yet. I'm sure some people have but it's a huge area that was pretty deserted a couple of years ago, and these things take time here.

In the UK one may purchase a usb dongle that acts as a wireless modem and wifi mobile telephone platform. Speeds are up to 8 gb with a 3gb download limit per month. the three major players in the market appear to be charging about £15 a month. Good value for a great service ( always on broadband ).
Is this available in Turkey, i cant see from the websites i look at.
Many thanks, Steve.

Hi Farry, I have been in touch with Anne but she, personally, did not know how it had been set up on Violet.  She said she will be out in week or so and will make enquiries.  Meantime, we got someone round, he checked our complex and found the signal very weak.  There are currently 5 of us on the complex with ADSL.  It may not be feasible after all, unfortunately.:(
