Well, we certainly copped the bad weather in the end. It started raining in the early evening and continued throughout the night. We've been treated to one of the most spectacular lightning storms for the last couple of hours (it's 4am now) and the rain has gotten progressively heavier.

No doubt there's going to be a huge mess to clear-up in Ovacik, Hisaronu and Oludeniz later in the morning.

I agree with kkob, its been a realy bad night up here in Ovacik with wind and terential rain, saying that the lightening was spectacular, when it stops then its going to be the clean up.....shame for the shop/bar/restaurant and hotel owners...not good for the tourists either  :o

It has just stopped raining but the shipping forecast shows this to be the calm before the storm! Apparently from about mid morning today throughout the afternoon the rain is going to be torrential.  Hunker down!!

I hope everyone is OK and there isn't too much damage to property. Yes the forecast is bad for the rest of today and tonight and at some point the water will hit the lower areas such as Calis and Koca Calis.

I read yesterday that Istanbul were expecting even more rain.

Something is definitely wrong with our climate these days.

Mumsie reports that incredible storms in Uzumlu all night - like shes never seen.  Still raining and has been told that the valley has problems because of the flooding.  Poor Mumsie thought she was going to roast by the pool for two weeks !  Hope everyone is OK, I suspect the crops had a bit of a bashing.
