Coffee and Cake afternoon for Yunus nadi school.
« on: December 15, 2009, 12:12:41 PM »
There is a coffee and cake afternoon being held this Saturday by the Yunus nadi school to raise funds for a new school classroom.

The event will be held at the Iskele Ocabasi cafe which is in front of the police office on the harbourside at the far end of Fethiye at 2o'clock.

The school which is at Karagozler has a very good reputation and is heavily subscribed to by parents which result in a very high intake of children. There is a need to increase it in size and it could also do with some carpet etc to make it more comfortable for the winter. Of course the parents are already making lots of effort to improve the facilities at the schooland have decided to do what we do in Britain and raise some funds for this to start.

All will be welcome and if you wish to bring or buy a cake to raise some money please do so. :) :)

Hope that you are able to make it to the Ocabasi cafe tomorrow to encourage them in their efforts to help their school in Karagolzler.  Mum's have been baking and the children making some little things I have been told by one of the parents. It would mean a lot to them as this is not something they have ever tried before. There will be a raffle for a meal. :)

Thank you to everybody who attended the coffee and cake afternoon today. Some lovely cakes and savouries were there and I think about five hundred lira raised which is a good start. The meat pies we bought were lovely, thanks Sue and Aycug. We did enjoy meeting you all.Lovely restaurant too.

The school hopes  to have a stall at the car boot sale in Calis as well.

Wishing you success with your project.
